Discovery Credit Union has partnered with a number of local employers who support our aims of encouraging people to save regularly, borrow wisely and support the local community. These employers allow members to save directly from their wage.

Becoming an Employer Partner is a great way for your business to be involved with the local community and enhance your corporate social responsibility profile. By partnering with us, together we can bring an employee benefit that can change lives.

Our members often tell us that saving direct from their pay is the easiest way to build up a nest egg, or to save for something special such as Christmas or annual holidays.

Equally, they also tell us repaying loans direct from their pay is a convenient way of making sure repayments are made and on time.

What does being an Employer Partner entail?
  • Where practical, you can choose to offer employees a simple payroll deduction facility to enable members to have their savings and loan repayments deducted direct from their salary.
  • If you are not in a position to offer this facility, we are still interested in discussing how we can work together.
  • Allocating a nominated representative to coordinate the payroll deduction facility within the company.
  • Enabling and assisting the credit union to market the benefits of joining through activities such as: including literature within staff payslips, articles in staff newsletters, information on staff notice boards, articles on company intranets, delivering presentations at staff meetings, incorporating the credit union within induction materials etc.
  • Encouraging interested staff to become a Credit Union Workplace Champion, acting as a point of information and sign posting interested individuals

In addition to becoming an Employer Partner, there are several other ways for your organisation to get involved, such as promoting volunteering opportunities within Discovery Credit Union to your staff, such as volunteer Directors and members of specific subgroups, thus broadening their skills and experience.
